The captors and the MOUS are asleep, this is my favorite time of day. Sunshine, birds chirping, coffee brewed and aside from the snoring, all is quiet on the homestead.
Yesterday was fairly uneventful. I attempted to return the abode to a state that allows for human habitation. I feared an unexpected visitor could arrive and report to the village that there must have been a natural disaster which could surely have sent the townspeople into an unnecessary frenzy. I am happy to report that progress was made. By sunset today we will even have laundered clothes to wear, allowing us to maintain the illusion that we are a normal family unit.
If you asked the assailants though, their story of yesterday would be vastly different. I believe July 13th, 2019 will forever be etched in their memory as a near apocalyptic date. They would tell you that the day started normal, and all was going well…almost too well. They will say, they should have seen it coming. The tale they will surely tell to their grandchildren will include the moments before the event that almost ended us all. They’ll tell tales of riding bikes with assailant cohorts, tales of swinging on the play apparatus while singing -oblivious to the looming disaster prepping to strike the homestead.
At approximately 8:18 pm the magic box that uses radio frequencies to allow their electronic devices to connect to entities such as YouTube CEASED to work. The sheer panic exhibited by the manchild was, dare I say, slightly amusing. In all his 4953 days I do not believe I have ever seen him spring into action so quickly. It was clear he feared doomsday approaching as he swiftly located the receptor box and began to diagnose the problem. (Not before he attempted to blame me for the pending apocalypse, of course) Thankfully within 10 minutes he had restored the sending and receiving of the RF transmissions and saved us all from an early Armageddon!!
I feel this receptor box could become a highly effective tool should I plan a hostage takeover. I must study its operations while the captors sleep…wish me luck as I attempt to add to my stockpile of possible takeover resources.
