Day 4967 Nothing to wear and nothing to eat

Another quiet morning on the homestead, all are sleeping but yours truly. I’m enjoying a quiet, uninterrupted cup or two of coffee and planning my exciting day of laundering garments.

After last weekends storms that left us without electricity for 2 days, I still have much to do. It was an interesting experiment, removing the assailants link to the YouTube entity…interesting, yet quite exhausting. It was akin to going back in time to when the hostage takers were but wee little ones. “When’s the power coming back on?” “Can we go shopping?” “Can you make a pizza?” “I’m bored”

Now that normalcy has been restored, they are back to their old tricks. The young female confronted me immediately upon my return from work Friday night, asking to go to Kohl’s. I asked the obvious question of Why? And received the reply of, “I need something”. When I asked what, she said, “shorts”. When I said no, I didnt have extra currency for shopping, she predictably replied with “it’s not shopping mom, I NEED IT!” I’m not sure if this is irony? The young female has garments seemingly taking over every inch of her sleeping quarters, yet, she has “NOTHING to wear”

The manchild has spent nearly every day with visits from cohorts from the village. They ride their bikes, walk, talk and sometimes engage in battles that require me to use my stern voice to send them outoors.

Despite the pantry and icebox filled with foodstuffs, we “NEVER have anything to eat”. I am beginning to wonder if the assailants require a diet separate from humans. I am now less than confident in my abilities to provide sustenance. On my next trip to the village to barter at the markets, I secretly hope there is a vendor specializing in the diets of hostage takers; though I would be remiss to believe one actually exists.

I have begun the seemingly neverending task of laundering clothing and must step away from my journal. Though writing of my trials offers a needed outlet, a temporary escape from the reality of a hostage life, I must not let it interfere with my duties.

Day 4958 Supersonic butter, aliens, and geysers

The young female arrived home from Bible camp today. She was filled with words and stories that flowed forth like a geyser that sat dormant for decades. It was obvious she gained much happiness from her time away.

The young man child is frying chicken breasts I had cooked earlier. He is quite the accomplished chef with chicken, eggs, and potatoes. However, he just lamented that he was injured from supersonic flying butter… I wonder if this is related to the rumors circulating the village and even reaching to the city folk? It is regarding the storming of a numbered area said to contain proof of failed alien conquests? Though its intriguing, I must wonder if the aliens really failed or if they walk among us. I mean…where else would supersonic flying animal fat come from???

We had bad weather tonight, storms approached with dangerous blowing of trees and electricity lighting up the sky!!! (perhaps the missing lights from the large city last week made their way here?) and then the aliens, I mean the government officials, warned us of looming tornadoes! I swiftly took the captors to the underworld, I mean the cellar, to ride out the storm. They were obviously terrified since they brought their blankets, pillows, and the small boxes that conjure up the YouTube entity…I think they feared what would happen if they were left to hold us without guidance! I am ON TO THEM!

The worst of the storm is now past and the captors are quiet, I think I shall try to wind down from the days events so I may slumber.

Hello world!

Welcome to my little corner of time.  I am beyond new to this… I’m like a 4-K blogger, really, so don’t expect to be blown away, this is just my place to empty my head.  Someday, along the way, I hope I can put a smile on a strangers face or a little happiness in their heart.  For now, I’m just going to share my stories of w(h)iney mommihood, talk about life, like we would over a cup of tea(if we had the time or quiet to do so), travel back to stories from the past and perhaps take some time to look ahead and see what life in the future might look like for my favorite clan, my family.

Thanks for stopping by…
